ABSTRACT

Titanium is attracting a lot of attention in many fields of engineering due to its useful properties like high corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties. In this project the main focus is on flat anodic layers titanium oxide, which are very durable, stable and have color, due to the thin-film interference of light. Project aim is to create a device capable of printing the oxide layer with high resolution and precise thickness of layer. In previous year a working prototype was created and final device is in construction. Additional outcome of project is creation of a map of titanium oxide colors, which is now in progress.

Possible applications today include artistic work and long-lasting, high security data. In addition to that, this technology has high potential of becoming important in technologies which are yet to arise.
